How to get more Instagram followers and likes for your business or personal account. Tips and tricks that really work in 2017.
1. Following and Followers Ratio
New users will be more likely to follow you if your number of followers is larger than the number of people you follow.
For example, if you have 1500 followers but are following 4500 accounts, people may think you are a spammer and won’t follow you. And vice versa, if you are following just a few people, or nobody at all, people may think you are a snob and won’t follow you.
It’s best to be following at least 100-200 people. For accounts with over 30k followers, it’s ok to keep number of followings at maximum (7500 followings).
2. Use the Right Hashtags
Don’t use any overused hashtags like “love”, “sunset” etc. because your photo will get buried in Instagram feed in seconds.
It’s best to make a list of 180 highly optimized hashtags related to your niche.
Why 180? Because new Instagram algorithm doesn’t like repeating hashtags, so by having a list of 180 hashtags, you will be able to use a new set of 30 hashtags every 6 photos you post.
Best hashtags are those, that have more than 10k but less than 1 mil posts.
To see the effectiveness of the hashtag, you can also check other people’s posts under that hashtag. If they don’t get many likes/comments, then probably it’s better to choose a different hashtag.
3. Submit Photos to Feature Accounts
There are many niche communities and hubs on Instagram that are looking for new interesting content daily.
Usually, for a chance to get featured you just need to follow them and use their hashtag. To maximize your chances, choose communities that consistently post at least 1-2 times per day.
4. Try to Get Your Post Into Top Posts Area
When your posts start getting 200-300 likes, find 5-10 low competition hashtags where other people’s posts in top area have below 1k likes.
The hashtags, of course, must be relevant to your niche for maximum results. Then post a photo using these hashtags as well as your normal hashtags.
The faster your photo gets likes and engagement after posting, the more chances you have to get into top posts area.
5. Add Location to Photos
For maximum exposure, it’s good to add location to your Instagram posts.
Location works in a similar way to hashtags. If you search on Instagram, for example “Times Square, New York City”, you will notice, that there is also latest posts feed, and 9 top posts.
Adding a location is a good extra way to increase exposure of your account.
Secret Tip: Get Likes Quickly by Liking Pet Photos?!
If you want to get your photos into top posts area and need to get as many likes as possible (and fast!), it’s a good idea to go to the Instagram’s cutest area (example: #bestcataward #topcatphoto etc.) and like the latest pictures.

I hope these tips will help you to grow your Instagram account! 🙂
